Judo Classes
GIRLS & BOYS UNDER 12
This popular kids class teach fun and safe judo to kids under 12 years old. We run this class twice a week every Monday and Wednesday, please check our class timetable for Under 12 classes time.
BOYS & GIRLS UNDER 14
Boys and Girls Under 14 Judo classes develop throws, groundwork techniques and overall body strength. Classes develop strategy with a focus on competition depending on individual player’s maturity.
WOMEN & UNDER 17 GIRLS
At Ginkan Judo School we run Judo classes for women and girls under 17 years old. Prospective beginners are welcomed to call around to any of our training sessions to have a chat and even trial a class.
SENIORS M/F & UNDER 17
Our seniors training sessions mix conditioning drills, technique and free practice. This program is suitable for experienced competitors and developing players.
OPEN CLASS
We run an open class suitable for people of all fitness levels. These will teach you the fundamentals of judo to kick start your training and to enable you to practice various techniques with confidence.

Ticket to Play - Helping You Stay Active!
Ginkan Judo School is proud to be a part of the Ticket to Play program, an initiative by the Tasmanian Government that helps children and young people participate in sport and recreation activities by providing a $100 voucher towards the cost of memberships or activity fees.
How It Works:
- Ticket to Play is available for young people aged 5 to 18 years, who are residents of Tasmania.
- Eligible families can apply for one voucher per child, per year, to assist with the cost of sport or recreational activities.
- The voucher can be redeemed with participating clubs, including Ginkan Judo School, to help cover the costs of our Judo programs.

How to Apply:
- Visit the official Ticket to Play website to apply for your voucher.
- Once approved, you will receive a voucher to redeem with Judo Tasmania.
- Use your voucher to cover your Judo Tasmania membership fees, and get your child started with Judo at Ginkan Judo School.
